850 MHz  GSM/1900 MHz GSM GSM Network Code: 310-410 (US-41)
My Status: Active  Length of Service: 32 months My Phone: Motorola v3xx

This is AT&T's GoPhone Prepaid Plan. It uses the AT&T GSM network and your local coverage area is the national AT&T GSM network.  Long distance is included.  If you are not in the colored areas on the map below your phone will not work.

There are two plans. Pay As You Go and Pick Your Plan

Pay As You Go is the traditional prepay plan. There are two plans available.
(1) 25c per minute plan.  25c/minute.
(2) 10c per minute plan. $1/day fee for any day a voice call is made or received. 10c/minute. No additional charge for M2M!
Text messaging costs 15c/SMS & 25c/MMS for each message sent or received. It costs 25c to send an International SMS.  WAP is available at 1c/KB. Airtime expires in 90 days except for $15 card, which expires in 30 days, and the $100 card, which expires in 365 days.  Minimum monthly cost is $8.33/month.

Pick Your Plan
is a hybrid prepay plan. You make a monthly payment ($30, $40, $50 or $70 every month) like a regular plan. You get some number of nights & weekends (and unlimited M2M) with plans of $40 and up.  Airtime costs 11-15c/minute. Taxes and Fees are additional, figure an extra 15-20%. Text messaging costs 15c for each message sent or received. WAP is available at 1c/KB.

Bundles are now available for both PAYG and PYP (which can be a great deal).
Messaging Packs: $4.99/200; $9.99/1000; $19.99/unlimited text
Media Net Packs: $4.99/1MB; $9.99/5MB; $14.99/10MB; $19.99/unlimited data (overages 1c/KB)

Night & Weekend calling is now available for $20/month (except for the Pay As You Go 25c plan - where it would have been a good deal). There are web and text packages available.

Coverage-wise, Pick Your Own Plan provides more coverage that Pay As You Go

Beware: No roaming allowed on Pay As You Go (a couple of exceptions: Western Wireless and Dobson in some cases)

Over the years I have had plenty of billing problems. Make sure you watch your online account closely. Don't use International calling. Not only are the rates inflated, but you get charged more than the stated rates!
